Player Profile

Steve is one of the great characters on the European Seniors Tour and a man who divides his time between competing and running his industrial painting business in the Midlands.

He was a Staffordshire county player for many years before turning professional in 1996 and almost immediately earning his Tour Card at that year's Qualifying School. Subsequently he has made four return visits to the School which would have been five but for finishing tied for sixth at the 2001 Seniors Tour Championship at PGA Golf de Catalunya which was enough to move him up to 46th on the Order of Merit.

Steve finished the 2002 season in 64th place on the Order of Merit with his best performance of the season coming in the Estoril Seniors Tour Championship where he came eighth. He had his clubs stolen after carding a 75 in the first round of the De Vere PGA Seniors Championship but then carded a 70 with clubs borrowed from David Gilford to survive the halfway cut.

Best performance to date on the European Seniors Tour is a second place finish at the 1997 Manandens Affarer Seniors Open. Gained a conditional Tour Card at the 2002 Qualifying School at Pestana Golf Resort after finishing in tenth spot.
